Things To Do

Kuhio Shores is a 75 unit oceanfront condo complex with beaches on both sides, yet total privacy from the lanai because of the 20 foot greenbelt to the ocean.  This building has the closest oceanfront units on all of Kauai.  Snorkeling, scuba, swimming, and beachcombing are available without having to get in your car, and due to its optimal location, you are just 5 minutes by car from the wonderful array of shopping and restaurants in Poipu and Koloa. 
It is approximately 30 minutes to the Lihue airport.

Kauai's Sunny South Shore - Grab your swimwear, sun glasses, surfboard, sandals, and snorkel gear and get ready for Poipu, Kauai. Just a mile down the road is famous- Spouting Horn Park a unique natural feature of our garden isle. A little farther down the road is exquisite Allerton Botanical Gardens.  Watching surfers from the lanai is also a popular activity. Keep a look out for the giant green turtles swimming at Lawai Beach and the cove to the east of Kuhio Shores everyday! Watch for humpback whales right from your unit, all so close to Kuhio Shores! Be sure to find time for a leisurely stroll through old Koloa Town and its funky and fine items, including some great Hawaiian craft pieces, aloha shirts, jewelry and fine art objects.

The Beach -Adjacent is beautiful Lawai Beach, a favorite of snorkelers. The golden sand beaches of the Kauai's sunny south shore are world reknowned, from Poipu Beach Park, to the long stretch of sand known as Shipwrecks Beach . Poipu Beach has a rock-enclosed area making it a favorite of both snorkelers and families.
 

Golf -  Two golf courses are located less than five minutes by car; the Kiahuna Country Club and the Poipu Bay Resort Course at the Hyatt where the PGA Grand Slam is held. The Wailua Course is a public course on the East side, or you may also want to go North to the world-class Prince and Makai Courses.

Surf and Windsurfing-  Kauai Surfing Lessons  and   Kauai Windsurfing Lesson  For those who love to surf, right outside the unit are three prime surf spots, named: PK�s, Centers and Acid Drop. Surfers and Body Boarders are also a common sight at Lawai Beach. This is the perfect opportunity to learn to surf in the gentle waters of Kauai's South Shore. Or, perhaps take a sailboard lesson.


Snorkeling and Scuba-
Kauai Scuba Diving Tours  Kuhio Shores is located right next door to the famous Lawai Beach, which Frommer�s had named as Kauai�s best snorkeling beach.  Many of the local snorkeling companies bring their snorkelers right to this cove!  You�ll love snorkeling with the large sea turtles! The better snorkeling and scuba spots on Kauai are inside protective reefs.

Hiking-Kauai Hiking Tours  Kauai offers some of the most breath-taking hikes within its park system and Waimea Canyon, and several companies offer guided hikes to beautiful jungle destinations on private land.  A favorite is the 8-mile round-trip hike from the end of the road at Kee Beach to magnificent Hanakapaia Falls.  Don't forget your camera for this one.
